Sweet Baby Girl
I couldn't believe how awake this little sweetheart was during her session, even though she was only a few days old! But, that's ok, it meant that I was able to capture her beautiful blue eyes in some of her images! She settled down toward the end of the session, though, and we were able to get her set up in the doll bed, which turned out to be completely adorable... isn't she precious?

Time flies!
This handsome little man has been on my blog a few times already. We did newborn, 3 month, and 6 months photos, and it was already time for his 9 month pictures! He wasn't so much into getting his picture taken on this particular morning, but we were able to get some nice shots anyway! This is such a cute little family :-)

A "Slice of Life"
As usual for springtime, we've had some seriously rainy days around here. The day that we had scheduled this little guy's sessions was no exception, so we were stuck indoors. But it turned out to be just fine! His Mom and I had some fun ideas, and we decided to capture a "slice of life" in their home, with him playing with some of his favorite toys and eating his favorite snacks. I don't get to do this kind of session often, but they're so fun! It feels like a documentary of a regular day of life... things that might seem trivial now but will be fun to look back on later... Here's some of my favorites from his at-home session:

Another sweet baby!
I am so excited about the images from this session! We had talked a little bit about going outside for some of the photos from this session, but the chill that morning was just a bit too much to bring the baby out, so we did everything indoors! I love the natural feel of all of their family photos, and she looked so stinkin' cute in her little ruffle-butt and butterfly wings! And, those eyes! Wow!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice...
...that's what little girls are made of! This little sweetheart was such a good girl for her newborn session! Her mommy had some adorable hats for her to wear, and the dark hardwood of the living room ended up being just perfect with the basket setup! I'm so thrilled with how these came out!

...that face!
This little sweetheart's face might look familiar to you, I've photographed her several times, as well as her older sister. She was as cute as ever for this session - even with her tongue sticking out! She's going to be a beautiful little girl, just like her big sister is!

Birthday Girl!
I have had several sessions with this family, and haven't been disappointed yet! Mom always has creative ideas and fabulous outfits and color choices, how could I go wrong? We had a FANTASTIC ladybug themed cake smash to celebrate her first birthday, which was absolutely adorable! I am so happy with the images we captured in this session!

Sweet Siblings
I had such a great time capturing these two in a session at their home! This handsome little guy had just celebrated his first birthday, so he was wearing his special onesie and leg warmers - super adorable! His big sister is just beautiful, and we had fun with her as she expressed her fun and outgoing personality. I am so thrilled with the results of their session, here are some of my favorites!

Littlest Hunter
I can't believe how many baby boys I have been photographing lately! It has been all fun, though! For this session, we were lucky enough to have a day of unseasonable sunshine and temperatures, so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful afternoon glow. Daddy is a duck hunter, and they wanted to incorporate this into his session. I love the photo of him in the orange hat - we did a newborn photo of him with the same hat, but his entire body fit into it! Look at him now! We also squeezed in a few family photos, as well, and they turned out beautifully, too! I love it when a plan comes together!
Baby Blues
This little heartbreaker has been on my blog before, and it was just as much fun to photograph him this time as it was every other time! I have been shooting him since he was a newborn, and it is already time for his 6 month photos! I love the hats that his Mom had picked out for him, they were perfect for the spots in their home that we used for our photos! He's such a gorgeous baby!

Baby Boy!
In-home baby sessions are so sweet, I love capturing images of a family in their own environment, it just feels so intimate and loving! This baby boy's session was no exception, and it made me tear up more than once as I was editing and seeing that pure joy in his parents' faces. Here's a sampling of my favorites, he's a gorgeous baby!
Expecting!
Back when the weather was still pretty warm, I was asked to come out and do a 3-generation family session. The adult son and his wife had recently learned that they were expecting, and wanted to surprise his family when they shared the big news. So, we coordinated before the day of the shoot. I played dumb and did my usual thing as we hit different spots on the family property, but we were saving the big reveal for last. When we had the whole crew all grouped together for ta big family picture, I said the "secret word" and, as we cued up to say "cheese" for the last photo, they hollered out "we're pregnant!" Since we had planned ahead, I was prepared for the reactions and I just kept shooting thru the moment, capturing laughter and hugs and tears as they enjoyed the happy news! Here we are now, a few weeks before this little guy will make his arrival, and they asked me back to do a maternity session. It was crazy windy, but the temps were great, which was funny since we had talked about how nice it would be if we had a little snow for this session. But, that's ok, I'll take the sunshine, too!

Cute Cousins
Grandma contacted me awhile back and asked me if I would do a session with both of her beautiful grandbabies. Though it was too chilly and windy to do much outside, we got some cute stuff!

How do you not love a face like this?!?!?
If this baby looks familiar to you, it might be that you're recalling her newborn session images...
Isn't she beautiful?

Little Tiger Fans
These cuties arrived for their photo session in their Mizzou Gear for their family photos, and they looked too cute! Dad was also in his Tigers jersey, and sitting in the stands at the park just seemed like the right setting for us. After we got some shots of their football attire, we changed into Mom's awesome color selection of brown, orange, and blue. The lighting couldn't have been any better for this session!

Adorable Family
When this Mom contacted me to do kid/family pictures for her family, she was so excited that it made me even more excited! Our first appointment was cancelled due to awful weather, but our second try ended up being a bright and beautiful morning! She has two adorable sons, and Dad was so helpful and agreeable! I love how their session turned out!

Simply Sweet
This baby girl has had her appointment on the books since early summer, at the time it seemed like the appointment was forever away, but it was here before we knew it! At 12 days old, she was so alert and strong, I couldn't believe how awake and interactive she was with her parents! Her Mommy was radiant, you would never have guessed that she had just had a baby, and Daddy's eyes were filled with love every time he looked at his two beautiful girls. Thanks for asking me to capture this special time with your family!

Monkey Business
I photographed this sweet baby's newborn session - that sweet boy a few posts back that was sound asleep and resting his head on his hands - and Mom and Dad asked me back to do his 3 month photos. Mom had some great ideas and we had fun trying them all. I can't stop giggling every time I look at the photo of him in his monkey outfit!
Down on the farm
I've been photographing this sweet boy since his parents' maternity session, and it was time to get together again for his 6 month photo session. I can't believe it has been that long! We decided to go out to the family farm and make good use of the vintage tractor, old buildings, and scenery that were available to us. He did great, and we couldn't believe how bright his blue eyes looked. Mommy, Daddy, and Big Sister all have brown eyes, so we decided that he must have gotten a bunch of the recessive genes along the way. He's a cutie!

Sweet Baby
I can't believe that this little sweetheart is three months old already! She's such a beautiful baby, I can't wait to see what she will look like as she gets older. Her big sister is a doll, too, daddy's doing to have his hands full in a few years! :-)
