"The virtue of a camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking."

Stained Glass

I had a few minutes to kill on Saturday before a family event at a local church, so while I was wandering up and down the aisle I happened to glance up at the large rose window at the very back of church. The weather was cool and rainy, and the bright overcast sky was really filling the window with color. So, I hiked up the stairs into the choir loft to get a better view. It was disappointing to see that I couldn't get a center shot like I wanted because the church has a vertical pole with a mounted spotlight so that the window can be illuminated at night and viewed from the outside. So, I stood off to the side of the pole and did the best I could at an awkward angle and standing quite a bit shorter than the organ pipes that obstructed my view. I love how this turned out, though!

It feels good to get a blog post up. Things have been super busy for me lately, and the blog has unfortunately been on the back burner. I'm looking forward to some upcoming photo shoots, though, so stay tuned for more sneak peeks of those sessions! It is going to be a very busy spring!
